There could be a few reasons why you are unable to hear the speaker in the video. Here is a checklist of things to go over to make sure everything is working properly. Though some of these things may seem simple, it only takes one thing to miss to not be able to hear anything!
1. Speakers - Make sure that the speakers themselves are turned on and volume up at a reasonable level.
2. Windows - Make sure your computer has it's audio output on. For windows, the best way to do this is the following
A. Find the time in the lower right hand side of your screen
B. Click the picture of the little speaker
C. Make sure that the volume bar is turned all the way up
D. Make sure there the mute check box is unchecked
3. Video Player - On the video player itself there are also audio controls. Those controls are found on the bottom right hand side of the actual video, to the right of the total section time. Make sure that the speaker symbol does not have a line through it. If it does, click it once to un-mute it. Also make sure all of the vertical lines next to it are dark grey instead of white. To make sure the video is itit's proper level, click to the right of the picture of the speaker, and drag it to the right. This should increase your video volume.
I also recommend trying to play audio from your computer from another source to test it out. For instance, can you computer play an audio CD when you put it in, or can you watch and hear a YouTube Video?
