Rather than utilize exams or tests, course attendance is verified in video courses using two verification checkpoints. Each checkpoint will occur randomly during a course. Each verification checkpoint will pop up on the program screen and be accompanied by audible beeping. Attorneys are required to click "Ok" on each checkpoint in order to verify course attendance. In accordance with state guidelines, failure to click "Ok" on a checkpoint will result in the course resetting to the previously clicked checkpoint.
The video below shows the process for verification checkpoints.
For audio courses, the process is slightly different. Embedded in the audio file of a course is a verification code word. It is highly recommended to write down the code word, as it is essential to obtaining the certificate of completion for a course. Click here for more information on audio courses.
