The Lawline Video Course Center is the central location where all Lawline On Demand and Live Webcast courses can be viewed. There are a few important areas to note in the Course Center.
Lawline Video Player
The main area of the Course Center is the Lawline Video Player. Upon entering the Course Center, the Live Webcast or pre-recorded On Demand video will automatically begin playing. The volume, stream quality, and screen size can be adjusted by selecting the respective icons on the bottom bar of the video player.
Located to the left of the video player is the slideshow for the course. These PowerPoint slides are created by the faculty and synced to the video. This means that as the faculty advances the presentation the slides automatically advance as well.
Pro Tip: If the font on the slides is too small, try making the slides full screen. If you select the two opposing arrows, the slideshow will take up the space of your screen.
Directly below the course video and slideshow are the Smartnotes. This area allows for notes to be taken and timestamped with the video. Think of Smartnotes like video bookmarks. For example, if there is an important piece of information 30 minutes into a course, writing a smart note at that time is a quick and easy way to jump back to that point after a video has been completed. For more information about Smartnotes, click here.
The tab next to Smartnotes will be discussion. In this area, users can post public comments about the particular course. These comments are viewable by anyone with a Lawline account and access to the course.
Below the Smartnotes and Discussion are the course materials. This area includes a copy of the slides in PDF format as well as any additional materials the faculty might reference throughout the program. These can be downloaded by selecting the download button to the right. If a course is available for MP3 download, you can also do this here.
Next to the course materials will be the accreditation tab. Here you will see your credit state(s) and other states this course is approved in. You will be able to find the credit type along with when the course will expire in your credit state.
Below the course materials and accreditation section in the video center, you will find the course description. This is where you can find the summary and learning objectives of the course, along with the date it was produced, the difficulty level, the time length and the practice areas.
The final section in the course video center will be the faculty section. This is where you’ll be able to find the faculty who teaches the course. You will be able to view their Lawline public profile and have the option to contact them with any questions you may have.
To do this, select the "View Profile" option. You will then be taken to the faculty member's profile, where you can then select the "Contact Me" button.
Pro tip: Active subscribers now have the option to create their own public profiles! This feature can help you boost your site traffic and SEO, easily receive new leads and inquiries from potential clients and highlight your resume and achievements.
