The Lawline Video Course Center is the central location where all Lawline On Demand and Live Webcast courses can be viewed. There are a few important areas to note in the Course Center.
Lawline Video Player
The main area of the Course Center is the Lawline Video Player. Upon entering the Course Center, the Live Webcast or pre-recorded OnDemand video will automatically begin playing. The volume, stream quality, and screen size can be adjusted by selecting the respective icons on the bottom bar of the video player.
This includes the course title, selected credit states, and the faculty teaching the course.
ProTip: The faculty name is linked to the respective faculty profile, which includes additional courses the faculty has taught and a brief biography.
Located below the Course Information, these PowerPoint slides are created by the faculty and synched to the video. This means that as the faculty advances the presentation the slides automatically advance as well.
Pro Tip: If the font on the slides is too small, try using the Swap feature. As seen below, the Swap feature switches the placement of the slides and the video player in the course.
Pro Tip: To return to the default view (slides on the left and video player center), click the Swap button.
This area includes a copy of the slides in PDF format as well as any additional materials the faculty might reference throughout the program.
In this area, users can post public comments about the particular course. These comments are viewable by anyone with a Lawline account and access to the course.
Pro Tip: Through the comments section it is possible to ask questions of the faculty, click the box next to the "This is a question for the faculty" option.
This area allows for notes to be taken and timestamped with the video. Think of Smart Notes like video bookmarks. For example, if there is an important piece of information 30 minutes into a course, writing a smart note at that time is a quick and easy way to jump back to that point after a video has been completed.
Verification Checkpoints (OnDemand Video Only)
In place of test, quizzes or codewords, Lawline OnDemand Video courses utilize Verification Checkpoints. These randomly placed Verification Checkpoints are the primary method for Lawline to track and verify OnDemand video attendance and course completion. The Verification Checkpoints are pop-ups accompanied by audible beeps and a three-minute countdown. The Verification Checkpoints occur twice in every program and if missed will cause the video to restart from the beginning of the course.
Get Credit (Course Complete)
At the conclusion of a course, once the faculty has concluded the presentation. The video player will transition to the course completed screen, click the prompt to activate a brief survey and generate the course certificate of completion.
