Q: What devices can I access the app from?
A: The app is currently available for Apple devices operating on iOS 9 or later, as well as on Android devices operating on 4.1 and up. You can still access the Lawline.com website from any device (including mobile).
Q: Is video available on the app?
A: No, the Lawline app offers audio versions of our On Demand CLE courses only. You can download the mp3 file straight to your phone for easy offline listening. Keep track of the code word mentioned during the course to claim your credit.
Q: How do I find new courses?
A: Click the “Catalog” button at the bottom of the screen for full access to our courses. Choose to “Refine” your selection for a specific credit state and/or credit type. If you’re looking for a specific practice area, choose the “Categories” option in the top left. You can also sort your results.
Q: Why is my state not available?
A: You may not see your state available for a few different reasons. If it is not listed on that specific course, it means that course is not accredited in your state for the audio CLE format. If you would like Lawline to look into accrediting a particular course, please email us at support@lawline.com with the course and state information.
If you cannot select your state while in the course catalog or while claiming credit, it could mean that your state does not offer CLE credit for Lawline audio courses. Feel free to visit our website for approved video CLE courses for your state.
Q: How do I listen offline?
A: Click on a course you would like to download. Then select the “Download” option to load it onto your device. Once downloaded, it will be available on your dashboard under “On Device” and can be accessed with or without an Internet connection.
Q: Does the app save my progress?
A: Yes! If you have to leave a course at any time, the app will save your progress. Simply return to that course in the app and it will resume where you left off.
Q: How do I get credit?
A: First, make sure you have the code word from the course. Then, there are two ways to claim credit. While in the course itself, click the “Get Credit" button in the top right. You can also click on the course description and select the options button (...). From there, select the option to get credit. After filling out the survey, the certificate will be emailed to you.
Q: Can I switch between devices?
A: Courses started on Lawline.com via video will provide a notification on the app that the video was previously started on a different device. Progress within the app is saved, but courses started in the app can't be resumed on Lawline.com via video.
Q: The Lawline App is frozen- what do I do?
A: No need to fret - there are a few ways to resolve this issue. The first step is to close the app completely. If you're using an iPhone you can do this by double clicking on the home button and then swiping the Lawline app up to quit. You can then re-open the app. If this does not resolve the issue, delete the app completely and reinstall it. On an iPhone, press and hold down on the app until the X comes up to delete the app, then re-install it from the App Store. On Android, press and hold the app icon until the 'uninstall' option appears. Select "uninstall," then visit the Google Play Store to reinstall the app.
Q: The streaming of the audio is poor, what can I do?
A: You can try turning Airplane Mode on and off. On an iPhone, you can do this by sliding up the control panel from the bottom of your phone and clicking the airplane icon. On Android you swipe down from the top of your screen and click on the airplane icon.
