Q: What devices can I access the app from?
A: The app is currently available for apple devices operating on iOS 9 or later. You can still access the Lawline.com website from any device (including mobile).
Q: Is video available on the app?
A:The Lawline app offers audio CLE courses. By making the audio available, you can download the mp3 file straight to your phone for easy offline listening. Keep track of the code word mentioned during the course to claim your credit.
Q: How do I find new courses?
A: Click the “Catalog” button at the bottom of the screen for full access to our courses. Choose to “Refine” your selection for a specific credit state(s) and/or credit type. If you’re looking for a specific practice area, choose the “Categories” option in the top left. You can also sort your results.
Q: Why is my state not available?
A: You may not see your state available for a few different reasons. If it is not listed for that specific course, it means that course is not accredited for your particular state. If you would like Lawline to look into accrediting a particular course, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the course and state information.
If you cannot select your state while in the course catalog or claiming credit, that is indicative that state(s) does not offer CLE credit for Lawline audio courses. Feel free to visit our website for approved video CLE courses for your state.
Q: How do I listen offline?
A: Click on a course you would like to download. Then select the “Download” option to load it onto your device. Once downloaded, it will be available on your dashboard under “On Device” and can be accessed with or without internet.
Q: Does the app save my progress?
A: Yes! If you have to leave a course at any time, the app will save your progress. Simply return to that course in the app and it will resume where you left off.
Q: How do I get credit?
A: First, make sure you have the code-word from the course. Then, there are two ways to claim credit. While in the course itself, click the “get credit’ button in the top right. You can also click on the course description and select the options button (...). From there, select the option to get credit. After filling out the survey, the certificate will be emailed to you.
Q: Can I switch between devices?
A: Courses started on Lawline.com via video will provide a notification on the app that the video was previously started on a different device. Courses started via the mobile website or Lawline.com via MP3 will not save your progress between devices. Progress within the app is saved.
Q: The Lawline App is frozen- what do I do?
A: No need to fret- there are a few ways to resolve this issue. The first step is to close out the app completely. You can do this by double clicking on the home button on your iPhone and then swiping the Lawline app up to quit. You can then re-open the app. If this does not resolve the issue, press and hold down on the app until the X comes up to delete the app. You can then delete it and re-install it from the app store.
Q: The streaming of the audio is poor, what can I do?
A: Turn your phone to Airplane Mode by sliding up the control panel from the bottom of your phone and clicking the airplane. The switch Airplane mode off and resume the course.
