Newly Admitted Attorneys in New Jersey can attend Bridge the Gap (BTG) for CLE credit, but the event does not fulfill the entire Newly Admitted Attorney requirement in New Jersey.
One Bridge the Gap event offers a total of 9 live, in-person credits for New Jersey (6 General and 3 Ethics). If you stay for the entire duration of one Bridge the Gap event, you'll walk away with 9 out of the 12 required live, in-person credits. Or, you could attend for just the Ethics portion of the day and leave with 3 out of the 12 live credits (including 3 out of the 4 required Ethics credits).
You'll still need to complete 1 Ethics and 15 NJ-specific credits designed for Newly Admitted attorneys after attending all or part of a BTG event. And you'll need to be sure to earn at least some of those credits in a live, in-person format to meet that 12-credit live requirement.
So, the total requirement you'll need to fulfill is:
- 24 Total Credits, including:
- 15 NJ-specific credits for Newly Admitted attorneys (not available at BTG)
- 4 Ethics (3 can be fulfilled at one BTG event)
- At least 12 in a live format (up to 9 can be earned at one BTG event)
