Lawline does not seek pre-approval for CLE credit in the U.S. Virgin Islands at this time. However, attorneys admitted in VI are welcome to self-apply for CLE approval for any courses they wish to take, or take advantage of reciprocity. To do either option, follow the instructions below:
Self-Applying For Approval:
1. Before you start a program, you will be prompted to select which states you'd like to receive credit in. Click the 'Eligible To Self-Apply' option and select U.S. Virgin Islands.
2. After you complete the course, you'll be issued a certificate of completion which can then be used as part of your application for U.S. Virgin Islands CLE credit. This will serve as evidence that you already watched the course and will include much of the information required for self-applying, such as the title, presenter(s), length of the program, etc. The certificate will be sent to you via email, but it can also be found in your account by clicking 'Me' in the top right corner of your screen and then clicking 'Certificates.'
3. Once you complete your course, fill out the form below to officially apply for VI credit:
4. Send your form and any required attachments directly to VI. Their contact information is below, but is also listed on the application itself:
Virgin Islands Bar Association
2155 King Cross Street
Phoenix Court Business Complex
P.O. Box 224108
St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands 00822
Reciprocity
U.S. Virgin Island attorneys can also earn VI credit by completing courses approved in other jurisdictions, otherwise known as "reciprocity."
